I was thinking of planting Fescue Grass Seed in my backyard that I really don’t do anything with or like to water what are some tips I should know before I plant and how should I maintain it once it does germinate and grow?

I hate to water, and don’t really care to mow very often either so my friend suggested Fescue Grass instead of St. Augustine grass which is pretty common here in South Texas. I am not rich, so I need something cheap to buy and maintain. If you can help me determine which grass is best for my yard, that would be great. Bermuda or Fescue grass seed are the two types of grasses that I have been thinking about but know nothing about.

Any tips for me?

It offers some great planting tips and advice for your area and when is the best time to plant fescue grass seed and other grass seeds. You can buy either grasses at Lowes and Homedepot or your local feedstore, which might have a better deal on larger bags of seed that are not available at Homedepot or other home improvement stores.
